Is burning of the toes an early sign of “DIABETES”?

Question by erdawson2000: Is burning of the toes an early sign of “DIABETES”?
For about 1 year now, I have been getting a deep pain in my toes that sometimes feels like they are burning and sometimes they feel like they are broken. It is extremely painful. My dad had diabetes and so do a few of my siblings. I am worried that this may be an early sign of diabetes. Is this possible? Has anybody out there experienced this same pain or know of these symptoms? The burning pain also moves around to different parts of my foot. Sometimes the burning is on the side of my foot by my heel. If anyone out there has this, what is the diagnosis? Thanks for your answers.I
I have been tested for diabetes and it always comes out negative. The burning only occurs when I walk. It doesn’t burn when I am sitting or sleeping. It burns more when I walk bare foot….even feels like toes are broken. It hurts terribly if I walk barefoot. I haven’t walked barefoot in over a year. I don’t have any numbness in the toes…..just burning very painfully.
I have seen several Dr.’s but they all test me a tests are negative. One Dr. told me I am not getting enough cirrculation down to my toes.

Thats how my diabetes started . And like a dummy, I ignored it. And oh the pain in the legs and feet that followed. I could not stand the feeling of socks . Had to go bare foot in my work boots. Now the front half of my feet are numb. And constant , but bearable , pain.

Lose weight , get on a healthy diet plan , and probably need some Meds. Such as metformin.

A healthy diet is a way of eating that that reduces risk for complications such as heart disease and stroke. Healthy eating includes eating a wide variety of foods including vegetables, whole grains, fruits, non-fat dairy products, beans, and lean meats, poultry and fish. There is no one perfect food so including a variety of different foods and watching portion sizes is key to a healthy diet. Also, make sure your choices from each food group provide the highest quality nutrients you can find. In other words, pick foods rich in vitamins, minerals and fiber over those that are processed.

People with diabetes can eat the same foods the family enjoys. Everyone benefits from healthy eating so the whole family can take part in healthy eating. It takes some planning but you can fit your favorite foods into your meal plan and still manage your blood glucose, blood pressure and cholesterol.
